Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. Although the band did not have much success in the United States but they enjoyed huge popularity in other countries. That was the case especially in Japan. After the band split in 1979 Ford began a successful solo career in heavy metal. Her debut album as a solo artist was called 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the Album Out for Blood. Her albums weren't very well-received and she stayed away for several years. The smash-hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. Unfortunately, the success of her career wasn't lasting and over the course of several years she disappeared. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. In 2016, she released her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
